I took this in my dads car, while filling up with gas.
This car, and that empty home, were right ahead, just sitting there for no reason.

I feel like the title fits the photo perfectly:
di·lap·i·date /dɪˈlępɪˌdeɪt/
–verb (used with object)
1. To cause or allow (a building, automobile, etc.) to fall into a state of disrepair, as by misuse or neglect (often used passively): The house had been dilapidated by neglect.
2. Archaic. to squander; waste.

It's my commentary on Americans, their lifestyle, what they see as ideal.
The American Dream is not the answer to all.

I say, fuck The American Dream.
I say, fuck paying fifty dollars to fill up your lower-upper-middle-class luxury sedan.
I say, fuck wasting things that could be put to use.
I say, fuck you and your American Dream,
Fuck your willingness to conform
And fuck your self-righteous attitude towards being an American.

I say, DIY or fucking die.

But you say no.

The smudges - are they from the window in the car? However they came about, I love the imperfection. The tone and contrast were put to fantastic use, and the description of the interpretation of the title is great.

thaaaank you. actually, the smudges are raindrops. my dad was filling up, getting ready to take me to go hangout with my boyfriend on a rainy sunday.
